Retail

Helping a global jewellery brand to reinvent its brick-and-mortar efficiency thanks to predictive technology

Context

Our customer designs, manufactures and markets hand-finished and contemporary jewellery made from high-quality materials at affordable prices. Our customer's jewellery is sold in more than 90 countries on six continents through approximately 9,500 points of sale, including more than 1,600 concept stores.

Question

How to increase in-store sales productivity and offer a better service quality to customers?

Actions

  • Gathered, structured and analyzed all data that might have an influence on the store performance including both business and external parameters (promotions, weather, noise, environment...)
  • Identified productivity levers and measured ROI of actions
  • Provided significant insights for future brick and mortar organisation

Solution

The 'Morning briefing' app
A digest messaging app providing daily content to the store manager, including predictive insights on sales and visitor flow forecasts in order to recommend the best organisation within the store and to provide an optimized service quality.

Email marketing

Design and implementation of an app able to predict the quality of email listings for a major email marketing provider

Context

Our customer offers a simple, reliable and cost-effective marketing platform. Their all-in-one solution powers marketing campaigns for over 15,000 companies around the world. With offices in North America, Europe and Asia, our customer's system delivers over 30 million emails and text messages per day.

Question

How to automate the scoring of new email lists imported by users?

Actions

  • Created data flows able to prepare several billion emails for machine learning
  • Identified significant criteria for the machine learning models
  • Built a chain of algorithms able to predict the quality score of an email list
  • Designed an API prototype able to provide the score of an email list as a service

Solution

Email Scoring App
An API that can be called by sending an email list of an unlimited amount of emails and that replies by providing a score of the list calculated through real time prediction based on underlying machine learning models.

AEROSPACE

Implementation of an app to trace chemicals throughout a global supply chain

Context

Our customer is a major aircraft manufacturer. Chemicals need to be identified throughout the supply chain for many reasons: compliance with internal policies and external regulations, risk management, supplier negotiations, open innovation and marketing. But our customer needs to find a way to get data from its supply chain without compromising the competitiveness of its direct and indirect suppliers.

Question

Can you digitalize the supply chain traceability process?

Actions

  • Studio: clarifications of the target business workflow
  • Customisation: configuration of an app to match the target business workflow
  • Training: workshops with the application administrations
  • Change management: webinar with suppliers

Solution

Supply Chain Traceability App
Data collection campaigns are automated. A validation workflow enables our customer to maximise data quality and consistency. All the data becomes available on a consolidated database. Direct suppliers may redistribute their data collection campaigns to their own suppliers.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Design of a data hub that nourishes decision-making analytics

Context

Local officials need to go through hundreds of pages of documents every week to get to know what's going on within their services. Needless to say, time prevents them from reading more than a few percents of the pile. An app was needed to provide an overview of advancement and performance through analytics.

Question

Can you consolidate everything we do into one dashboard?

Actions

  • Studio: a series of discussions with the client, at different levels
  • Deployment of a data hub: a structured quantitative (KPIs) and qualitative (actions) database
  • Design of analytics: multi-dimensional data visualizations to render the contents of the data hub
  • iPad compatibility guarantee

Solution

Data Hub and Decision-Making Analytics App
A repository of all data (actions and key performance indicators) available to the local officials of the territory, with visualization tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION

Development of an app for event organisers to self-assess their global performance

Context

Event organisers are willing to make data-driven decisions but lack time and tools to do so.

Question

Can you create an app that will make easy for event organisers to self-assess the global performance of their projects?

Actions

  • Studio: industry discussion including all stakeholders on their dream tool
  • Specification: mock-ups of the user experience of their dreams
  • Development of a specific portal to maximise adoption
  • Configuration of the requested industry key performance indicators

Solution

An app for event organisers to self-assess the performance of their projects
It is now possible for event organisers to assess the economic, social and environmental performance of their projects. Event organisers may also use the tool to eco-socio-design their events. The accuracy of the evaluation will depend on how much time they've spent on data collection (typically from 15 minutes for a rough estimate, to half a day for more precise results).

FOOD PROCESSING

Delivery of an app to collect and share best practices globally

Context

Our customer is a global leader in food and health. To foster collaboration, energy efficiency, environmental performance and cost reduction, their Sustainability team was willing to make possible for each factory to share their best practices with all others, globally.

Question

Would a collaborative app between my factories generate contributions and ultimately, shared value?

Actions

  • Studio: workshops to define the user interface and best practice collection template
  • Configuration of best practice collection templates
  • Activation of a repository of best practices
  • Creation of user groups and of user rights

Solution

Repository of global industrial best practices
Once the app was rolled out, users were able to contribute to the database by sharing their best practices. Consequently, a best practice generating value somewhere in Thailand became the next second a good idea for a factory operating out of, say, Mexico. The app became a concrete accelerator of sustainability, including social, environmental and economic value. And at last all industrial best practices were available on a database, enhancing the data capital of this global food processing corporation.
